Set in stunning and ancient surroundings this church is as much swamped in history as it is beautiful. For two thousand years this church and its ruins have stood in some form, although very different to how it looks today.
The current church building as we know it dates back to the
Venetian period around 1498, although was built on the site of a earlier church that was destroyed by an earthquake in 1159 but there are many indications of other church buildings being present on this site that date back even earlier.
The church is recommended for smaller or larger weddings with guests of up to 100+ and either Anglican or Catholic weddings* can take place here. The church is in Kato, Paphos, perfect for wedding couples staying in the Tourist area of Paphos although within easy reach for couples staying anywhere in Paphos. We co-ordinate our weddings so that when the bride arrives all guests and her future husband are safely inside so the bride is free to have pictures taken before her grand entrance into the church for the ceremony.
Then after the ceremony has taken place the newly married couple along with their guests are taken into the grounds to capture the magnificent backdrop provided by this beautiful church for pictures in this historic setting. Wheelchair access available.
Summary - Ideal setting for smaller weddings or any number up to 100+ and easily accessible for couples staying anywhere in the Paphos area.
